Our journey into the Wonderful World of Collies & Shelties started in 1985.  At a little

campsite in Maryland where our family would camp, there was a beautiful Sable and White Dog

named Sam.  Our 3 year old daughter, Leslie, fell “in love” with this “Sammy” Dog and constantly

begged us to get one for her!

We promised Leslie a “Sammy” Dog when we moved into our new home that we were

building in the country.  We went to our Vet to find a reputable breeder of “Sammy” Dogs,

and he put us in touch with a wonderful lady named Marguerite Brown, (Mystic Hill Collies),

who bred Collies and lived close by in Lansdowne, Pa.

We went to see Marguerite and Leslie just couldn’t get enough of hugging all her “Sammy” Dogs.

We were told that a litter of “Sammy” Dogs was due in December and if we wanted to put a

deposit down on one, Leslie could pick her own “Sammy” Dog very soon.

On one of the trips to the building site of our future home our little family was involved

in a major automobile accident.  What once was a family of three was now a grief stricken family

    of two!

After several months in the hospital, I was transported to our new home by ambulance.

Unable to get around due to the severe injuries I had sustained, I made sure the nurses that

were hired to take care of me were “user friendly” towards a little Collie Puppy named

Samantha Rose of West Grove!  She was all we had left of our little Leslie’s dream and

we would love her even more!

My husband, Bob and I went on with our lives the best we could, adding several more Collies

to our Clan.  Some would say we were trying to “get over” the death of Leslie, who knows?

All we did know was these Collies provided us with unconditional love and they literally saved

    our lives!

Eventually, years later, Bob and I went our separate ways, but Mystic Grove continues on

in the love and caring of our beloved Collies and Shelties with my new husband, Steven,

by my side. It is funny sometimes, as I look back, that it is true what they say, …

“When one door closes … another opens, when you are ready!"

So take your shoes off, get comfortable, and come on in and stay a while!!!!!!!
